Rules, well guidelines really: Suggestions:

• Runs (see point 5) shall take place from a distillery site (either extant or extinct)
• Hashers, where possible, shall attempt to circumnavigate and/or pass through the distillery in question, however defiling of the distillery water supply shall be avoided where possible
• Runs shall ideally take place at the weekend / at hash weekends, and ideally once per season
• Runs shall be numbered according to a variant of the system adopted by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society: ie. a number for each distillery indicating the order in which they were visited, preceeding a run number indicating the number of times said distillery has been used as On Inn
• The words "run(s)" and "running" shall be used without opprobrium, their employment being assumed to be ironic.
• A bottle of the relevant single malt whisky shall be consumed during the course of the Hash and subsequent merriment, this being the lower limit of drinking acceptable
• The Hare(s) and/or organiser(s) responsible for each run shall preside as mismanagement during the course of said run and subsequent merriment, and shall perform the mismanagement functions necessary, to whit:
  1. Obtaining the necessary bottle of malt as per Rule 6
  2. Obtaining lesser barley based beverages and vessels in sufficient quantities to perform a post run circle, and presiding over said circle
  3. Extorting sufficient monies from those present to pay for points a. and b. and any other necessary expenditure (see point 10)
  4. The member of the mismanagement currently presiding over the circle or subsequent merrymaking shall hold the bottle as symbol of their (very temporary) authority. Comments shall be addressed to the bottle
  5. Bludgeoning of hecklers with the bottle is to be discouraged for fear of damage / loss of contents.
• The circle (see point 9) shall be restricted to matters of note; praise worthy and/or blame worthy events sufficient to merit reward and/or punishment, and other matters of importance (see point 11)
• The circle shall be brief, to the point, and shall not interfere unduly with the process of eating and especially of drinking
• "Other necessary expenditure" shall consist of any other expenditure considered, by the current mismanagement, to be necessary
• "Other matters of importance" shall consist of any matter considered by the members of the circle to be important; apathy, heckling, violence and out-and-out mutiny may be considered fair warning
• Where possible good relations shall be cultivated with the distillery and its employees; tours may be taken, samples and other items may be purchased
• Mismanagement functions falling between runs shall be performed as necessary by anyone who can be bothered
